Austin Macauley Publishers (AMP) founded in London in 2006, established its premises in Sharjah Publishing City, UAE in 2017, the hub of publishing in Sharjah. This marked the beginning of our proud story of publishing in the UAE. In 2018, we officially released our first titles in Arabic and English Language , both in eBook and printed formats.

From the beginning, AMP UAE became a member of the Emirates Publishers Association, demonstrating our commitment to the local UAE publishing community. We engaged in discussions with over 30 local publishers to identify opportunities and challenges in the market. This provided us with valuable insights into local themes and proactive actions that could be taken to further develop the UAE publishing sector.

To showcase our titles and engage with the community, AMP consistently participates in events such as the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and Sharjah International Book Fair. Our proactive presence at these events facilitates collaborations with authors and readers in the local community, enhancing discoverability and sales.

As our brand gained significance in the UAE, AMP’s International Publishing Director was recognized among the 30 most Influential Women in the Arab World by Arabian Business in 2019, reflecting our ambition to reach more readers globally.

Continuing our active participation in industry discussions, AMP’s International Publishing Director was selected as a panelist in the Publishers Conference Organized by Sharjah Book Authority in 2019, emphasizing the importance of digital tools in shaping the future of publishing.

AMP was appointed as the official licensee of the Expo 2020 Mascot Book, promoting themes of sustainability and technology to young readers and attendees of Expo 2020.

At the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival 2020, AMP was featured on Sharjah TV, highlighting our efforts in the UAE, including publications that complemented the year of tolerance. In the same year, we launched our first bookstore at Global Village, Dubai.

In 2021, our premises at Sharjah Publishing City expanded significantly, including a substantially larger warehouse and increased office space to support the growing staff in the region.

In response to the developing audiobook market, in 2023, we introduced Audiobook formats to enhance accessibility of our titles.

Continuing our engagement with the publishing community, we attended the 2nd International Booksellers Conference 2023, gaining fresh insights from the UAE publishing industry to further enrich our staff’s knowledge.

In recognition of our growth and contributions, AMP was awarded Best International Children’s Publisher by UAE Business Awards in 2023.

Committed to sustainability, we implemented initiatives such as using environmentally friendly materials and promoting sustainable practices, leading to winning the Sustainability Award from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in the same year.

Bringing our years of experience in the publishing field since 2006, our role to publish Arabic voices continues to expand with over 900 titles from authors in the UAE region and worldwide to date. We continue to elevate reading and writing knowledge to local communities through the written word, with top export locations of Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and KSA.
