Faded Gardenia
Humanity has not experienced a period of time that did not suffer from anything but the frequency of sorrows; from wars in which lives were lost.
This book tells the story of a woman named, Eleanor Macmillan, in the twentieth century, she led a quiet life in Prince Edward Island in the Canadian Kingdom, in the care of her brother and his family.
She was helping everyone, big or small, male or female, old or young. She responded to an appeal that topped the newspapers in 1916 calling for the support of England after it launched the war on the German Empire to support the occupied France in a war called the “Great World War” due to the tense situation in various countries around the world.
Witnessing massive destruction in all levels. Macmillan provided a helping hand, as usual, to those who needed it by joining the Canadian Army Medical Corps as a professional nurse, she performed her duty in France with a humanitarian and selfless spirit.
